CS Kipchumba Murkomen Addresses Fuel Support for Police Officers

Cabinet Secretary for Roads and Transport, Kipchumba Murkomen, has weighed in on the issue of fuel support for police officers, stressing the government’s commitment to ensuring law enforcers are adequately facilitated in carrying out their duties.

Speaking during a recent address, CS Murkomen noted that police officers play a critical role in safeguarding citizens and maintaining order, and thus their mobility should never be compromised by fuel shortages. He emphasized that adequate allocation of resources, including fuel for patrol vehicles, is a top priority for the government.

Murkomen pointed out that police mobility is directly linked to effective response time in emergencies and security operations. He assured the public that measures are being put in place to streamline the fuel supply system for police service vehicles across the country.

The CS further called on officers to use the resources responsibly, ensuring that allocated fuel is utilized strictly for service delivery. He maintained that accountability and transparency will be key in managing the funds and resources provided.

This move is expected to boost the morale of police officers and enhance their efficiency, especially in areas prone to insecurity. Kenyans have often raised concerns over delayed police response due to logistical challenges, with fuel constraints being among the main issues.

As the government continues to prioritize the welfare of security officers, Murkomen’s assurance marks a significant step toward strengthening national security and reinforcing public confidence in the police service
