Car dealer Khalif Kairo was arrested today at Milimani Law Courts, just after attending a court session for one of his fraud cases. Detectives picked him up over new claims that he took full payment for a BMW but never delivered the car.
Witnesses say Kairo was about to leave when officers stopped him and took him into custody. This is now his third arrest over fraud allegations linked to his company, Kai & Karo Limited.
Not much has been revealed about the new case, but sources say a fresh complaint was filed by a customer who claims he paid for a luxury car that never arrived. This has only added to Kairo’s legal troubles, as more people question whether his business was a scam.
Kairo had earlier been released on bond after struggling to raise the Ksh 3 million cash bail. His lawyers, Danstan Omari and Cliff Ombeta, are expected to fight the new charges, insisting that he is being targeted unfairly.
Before his arrest, Kairo hinted on social media that losing his company might be a blessing in disguise. “Maybe this was meant to happen. I will come out stronger,” he wrote.
For now, he remains in custody as detectives continue their investigations.
